The Refugio Buenos Chicos dog shelter in Zapopan has started a program in which families or individuals can adopt an elderly dog for a day.
The dog can be selected on Instagram, picked up from the shelter and include an overnight stay if requested. “Elderly dogs have little or no chance of being fully adopted .. but they deserve as much love as any other dog,” notes the Buenos Chicos Instagram account. The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is located at Orquídeas 370, Colonia Vicente Guerrero, Zapopan. The shelter cares for around 150 dogs at a given time, and is actively looking for permanent homes for its charges.
