Giant letters spelling out CHAPALA in multiple colors were installed this week at the Chapala waterfront opposite the Beer Garden as a new attraction for visitors and residents who want to snap souvenir photos with Mexico’s largest lake as a backdrop.

The emblematic Fuente de Pescadores in the heart of Chapala’s tourist zone has been refurbished with the installation of dancing fountains, nighttime lighting in revolving colors, and lake-themed decorative touches for the surrounding walkways. Metal mesh nets for the fisherman statues and other new details are still in the works.

Chapala municipal clinic open to one and all

Although the primary function of Chapala’s Clinica Municipal is to provide free medical attention and basic health care to local government employees, the facility is also open to the general public who seek services at modest costs.
