Dengue prevention campaigns under way

With the Covid-19 pandemic now waning, Jalisco’s Department of Health (SSJ) has begun ramping up a pre-rainy season campaign to prevent the spread of dengue fever, sending a brigade of agency staffers to the Chapala area to provide home dwellers with water treatment products that knock out the proliferation of disease-carrying mosquitos.


Lakeside Covid vax update

Health authorities have ramped up Covid vaccination programs in the Lake Chapala area throughout April, with AstraZeneca shots made available over the Easter vacation period at various public venues including the Chapala Malecón and the Ajijic Plaza.

Reversal for AMLO’s electricity sector reforms

Governor opts to keep masks

Even though many countries (and some Mexican states) have relaxed their rules regarding the use of face coverings, Jalisco Governor Enrique Alfaro said Monday that he hopes his health board will decide to continue the measure for the time being.
