Jacobson to keep her job

The Donald Trump administration has no plans to replace the U.S. ambassador to Mexico, Roberta Jacobson, who was nominated by President Obama, according to Francisco Palmieri, the acting assistant secretary for Western Hemisphere affairs at the State Department. Palmieri said on Tuesday that Jacobson is “the ideal ambassador to be in Mexico right now.”


Learner pilot’s miraculous escape

A pilot and his student got a massive break this week after their light aircraft developed a mechanical fault during a flying lesson.

The pilot was forced to make an emergency landing in a plowed field in Santa Cruz de las Flores in the municipality of Tlajomulco.  Even though the plane upended on landing, both the pilot and his pupil walked away from the accident without a scratch.

Primavera in flames as fires rage all over state of Jalisco

State authorities haven’t ruled out implementing measures to limit access to the Primavera Forest after several fires raged in the federally protected nature reserve this week, laying waste to 800 hectares of brushland and forcing more than 70 schools to close their doors in metro-area suburbs and outlying towns and villages.
