The government has temporarily closed the Islas Marietas archipelago off the coast of Nayarit in an effort to prevent damage to wildlife in the region.

State authorities are lending their support to a campaign in which hotels and restaurants on Jalisco’s southern coastline will offer tourists attractive discounts, as the area tries to get back on its feet in the wake of Hurricane Patricia.
