The Nueva Nilacala Mandir (International Society for Krishna Consciousness or ISKCON) in Guadalajara celebrates the 41st anniversary of Ratha Yatra (festival of the giant chariots) on Saturday, November, 18 and Sunday, November 19.

Despite boasting of several small parks and a few larger ones, Guadalajara is mainly defined by its intense urban-ness, a fact not lost on Marco Castro Cosío, the man behind Bus Roots, a company which, over the course of seven years, has built a fleet of food truck-sized vehicles with verdant gardens for rooftops. 

More than 150 women entrepreneurs will be exhibiting a wide range of products and services at the Expo Emprende y Hecho por Mujeres show that is running Friday and Saturday, November 17 and 18, along the central divider of Guadalajara’s Avenida Chapultepec.  

Another “movie-meet” (video viewing and lunch) is set for Sunday, November 26, 2 p.m., put on by Democrats Abroad Guadalajara Chapter at the American Society (Amsoc) in Colonia Chapalita.

The archdiocese of Guadalajara is again asking the Catholic faithful to dig into their pockets to help fund another important stage in the construction of the massive Santuario de los Martires, located atop a hill in the poor Cerro de Cuatro barrio to the south of Guadalajara.
