Following two days of protests, farmers from Jalisco, Michoacán, Guanajuato and other states dismantled their massive roadblocks after reaching initial agreements with federal authorities over purchase prices for their crops.


San Juan Cosalá in line for mega hotel

Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro has announced that the private hospitality sector is planning to invest around 20 billion pesos (US$ 1.05 billion)  over the next three years to build new hotels in key Jalisco tourist destinations. Twelve of these new lodging facilities are expected to open ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. 

Top women’s tennis hits Zapopan

Tickets are on sale for the Guadalajara Open, a Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) 500 event that will feature some of the world’s top female players. The tournament runs from September 8–14 at the Pan American Tennis Center, located adjacent to Metropolitano Park in Zapopan.
