Exhibits
• Chapala-based textile artist Synthia David is holding her first local show, “Light Up Your Life,” featuring hand-painted silk batik lamps (ArtLites), handcrafted handbags and scarves. The opening is Friday, May 1, 4 to 6 p.m. at Casa del Sol Inn.
• Paintings by Arlette Romero and sculptures by David Agredano at “Dos Visiones,” at the Galeria Luis Lopez Terriquez in the Antigua Presidencia in Chapala.
Art events
• Art in the Plaza is now called Baz-Art Lounge and will be held at Johnny’s Lounge & Coctails on the first Saturday of the month (next one May 2), 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Art Connection and Grupo Hokary are the organizers.
• The Efrén González Children’s Art Program presents a sale on Friday, May 8, 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Friday Art Market in La Huerta, West Ajijic. Discover a fresh selection of art cards, featuring artwork not shown at previous monthly sales. All cards are high-quality reproductions of original works by the children in the program. A limited selection of original artwork will also be available. Fifty percent of all proceeds go directly to the young artists, supporting and encouraging the next generation of creative Lakeside talent.
