Local women killed by kidnappers

The bodies of two women discovered March 24 in the hills above San Juan Cosala have been identified as local teachers related by blood who had been kidnapped in Ajijic on the night of March 13.


Chapala cops under investigation

Six members of the Chapala police force are under investigation for suspicion of collusion with organized crime following the abduction and shooting of two local men reported late Friday, March 22.

New Ajijic parking restrictions

Effective this weekend, new parking restrictions will be applied on two streets in central Ajijic. All parking on the north side of Calle Parroquia, running from the San Andres church to Calle Colon, is now prohibited. Vehicles are allowed on the left-hand side of the one-way street.

Chapala parking fines on hold for holidays

Although newly installed meters are now functioning in downtown Chapala’s expanded pay-to-park zone, tickets for parking violations will not be issued to vehicles occupying spaces along Avenidas Madero and Hidalgo until after the Easter holidays.
