Quebec supports LGBTI+ community

The provincial government of Quebec will donate CAN$5,000 in 2022 to help in the fight to eradicate discrimination and violence against the LGBTI+ community in Jalisco, Stephanie Allard-Gomez, Quebec’s Delegate General to Mexico, said on a visit to Guadalajara this week.

Metro-area air quality slumps

Jalisco’s Environmental Agency (Semadet) issued several Phase One air quality alerts in the Guadalajara metropolitan this week after two of the city’s ten monitoring stations registered pollution levels higher than 150 Imecas (Mexico’s standard for urban air quality measurements).

Governor slapped with new rights citation

The National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) has issued a recommendation to the governor of Jalisco in the case of Giovanni López, the 29-year-old who died shortly after being detained by Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos police officers on May 4, 2020.
