The 2019 Lake Chapala Writers’ Conference, to be held March 6 to 8, promises to be one of the best and most comprehensive ever.

One of the best things about music festivals in general and the Northern Lights Festival de Febrero in particular is that they often present repertoire and sounds with which we are not familiar.  Such is the case with the program “For the Love of Opera” to be presented in the Auditorio de la Ribera Sunday, February 17, 4 p.m.

“Steve Austin, astronaut. A man barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world’s first bionic man. Steve Austin will be that man. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster.”

For the convenience of people hampered by mobility issues, the Chapala government has installed a metal ramp at the entrance to City Hall.

The legendary music icon Luis Gasca and his All Star Band, featuring Canadian Juno award winner, vocalist Johnny Favorite, will play The Spotlight Club Wednesday and Thursday, February 6 and 7.
