Ajijic artist Efren González has been working at a frantic pace to wrap up his latest creative projects and prepare for a series of special events in the first two weeks of November.
“Outside Mullingar,” which opens at Lakeside Little Theater (LLT) Friday, October 21, is a contemporary, romantic comedy set in rural Ireland, guaranteed to bring both laughter and a few tears to audience members.
The Feria Maestros del Arte has produced a quality bound coloring book based on photographs of crafts from 16 artisans who regularly exhibit at the show.
Last weekend at the Bravo Theatre, the Lakeside community was treated to a smorgasbord of nine different scenes, each ranging from five to 15 minutes, featuring 15 actors of varying talents, from retired professionals to absolute newcomers.
The state’s premier dance group, the Ballet de Jalisco, directed by Dariusz Blajer and based in Guadalajara, is slated to present a gala consisting of parts of several classic works as well as at least one contemporary dance choreographed by Blajer himself at the Auditorio de la Ribera in Ajijic Saturday, October 29, 6 p.m.
During the entirety of October the village of Ajijic is roused from its slumber before daybreak as sky rockets burst in the air calling the faithful to early morning prayer in honor of La Virgen del Rosario.
Rehearsals for this fall’s Thriller/Zombie presentation in the Ajijic Plaza are Wednesdays from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 to 3 p.m. at Club Exotica (at the back of El Jardin Restaurant) on the Ajijic Plaza.
