Images captured during the killing of the Jalisco tourism secretary last weekend (see story page 7) proved to be useless, according to investigating authorities. Two cameras installed by the municipality in the San Javier neighborhood were unable to record the features of the assassins or even the license plate of their vehicle.
Zapopan Mayor Hector Robles said further evaluation was needed on the technical specifications – the image resolution and rotations ability, in particular – of 200 additional cameras that have been approved for installation this year.
