With just seven months left in his administration, Chapala Mayor Joaquín Huerta has finally hired a well-qualified professional to head up the city hall press and public relations office.
Carlos Alberto Díaz Mendoza came into the job with a degree in journalism from the University of Guadalajara, studies for a Master’s degree in Public Opinion and solid experience in newspaper editing.
Meanwhile, Rubén Ortega Montes has taken charge as supervisor of the Ministerio Público (District Attorney) agencies in Chapala, Jocotepec, Tuxcueca and Tizapán el Alto. He was transferred to Chapala from El Salto, replacing Rogelio Ramírez Reyes, who has been reassigned to regional headquarters in Ocotlán. The new MP chief holds a Doctorate degree in law.
