The political forum for Chapala mayoral candidates planned by the lakeside branch of the Guadalajara Chamber of Commerce has been rescheduled for Tuesday, May 12 to mesh with a similar encounter organized by local media outlets. The event will be held at the Robert Kleffel auditorium on the campus of the Instituto Tecnologico Superior (ITS), starting at 11 a.m.

The program is geared for an audience of ITS students, representatives of the lakeside business community and civic associations and members of the press.

The seven registered candidates invited to sit on the panel are, in alphabetical order: Moises Alejandro Anaya Aguilar, Citizen’s Movement (MC); Javier Degollado Gonzalez, Institutional Revolutionary Party-Ecologist Green Party alliance (PRI-PVEM); Mario Ferrer Villafuentes, New Alliance (PANAL); Jose de Jesus Hernandez Hernandez, National Regeneration Movement (Morena); Juan Carlos Pelayo Pelayo, National Action Party (PAN); Adriana Pérez Ornelas, Labor Party (PT); and Edgar Alejandro Ramirez Perez, Party of Democratic Revolution (PRD).

Each of the contenders will be allowed five minutes to talk about his or her personal background, ten minutes to outline political perspectives, and an additional 10 minutes to talk on propositions for resolving the municipality’s top problems.  The final half hour will be dedicated to answering a variety of general questions submitted in advance by the students.
