Storm damage hits north shore

A potent storm that struck Lake Chapala’s north shore around dawn on Thursday, July 12 provoked flooding and landslides in the vicinity of El Chante on the eastern outskirts of Jocotepec.


Teacher sentenced in kindergarten abuse case

The part-time English teacher accused of molesting her pupils at the Fray Juan Ruiz de Cabañas y Crespo pre-school in San Nicolás de Ibarra has been sentenced to a four-year prison term on three counts of aggravated sexual abuse.
