No more right on red?

The Jalisco Transportation Department (Setrans) may revise the rule that allows motorists to turn right on a red light unless there is a sign prohibiting it.

Although drivers turning right on red can only do so if the road is clear, Setrans Road Safety coordinator Saúl Alveano said the practice is “high risk” for pedestrians. He said a working group in the department has been assessing the risks involved, and will meet soon to decide on whether to outlaw the driving maneuver.
