Representatives of Jalisco’s Culture Secretariat will address public concerns regarding the future of the Auditorio de la Ribera at an open meeting scheduled for Thursday, February 27, 5 p.m., at the auditorium, located on the highway in La Floresta.
The Jalisco state government will not sign up to the new Instituto de Salud para el Bienestar (Insabi) health care program, but has inked an agreement promising “coordination” with federal health authorities to guarantee the same rights: i.e. universal health care for all.

Cancer drug shortage
Reports of a shortage of cancer medicines for children at Guadalajara’s public Hospital Civil are gaining ground. The director of the Nariz Roja charity told reporters Thursday that the hospital has run out of stocks of eight important medicines required by children undergoing chemotherapy: Imatinib, Vincristina, Vinblastina, Ifosfamida, Dacarbacina, Daunorrubicina, Bleomicina and Amifostina. The charity has managed to obtain the medicines thanks to donations.
The first Magic Towns Festival (Festival de Pueblos Mágicos) will be held in Mazamitla on Saturday, February 8 and Sunday, February 9.
