ART WKND GDL showcases Guadalajara’s thriving art scene

Among serious art collectors, Guadalajara is widely recognized as one of Mexico’s leading art capitals, but less so for the average enthusiast. ART WKND GDL 2025 aims to change that perception.

This weekend, galleries and studios across the city will open their doors, inviting the public to engage directly with artists, explore their creative processes, and discover the inspirations behind their work.

In addition to exhibitions at major institutions like Museo de las Artes (MUSA) and Museo de Arte de Zapopan (MAZ), the event will shine a spotlight on some the city’s lesser-known galleries and studios, highlighting the dynamic creativity of local artists, designers and architects.

Visitors will discover established and emerging artists at locations such as Sala Silenciosa, Travesía Cuatro, Galería Curro, Páramo, House of Gaga, Tiro al Blanco, Palma Project Room, Apto Galería and Galería Adentro.

ART WKND GDL runs Thursday, January 30 through Sunday, February 2, and is carried out in association with the Jalisco Tourism Department, the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area Tourism Trust, Guadalajara City Hall, Architectural Digest magazine, Vogue Mexico and Porsche.

“Guadalajara has become a platform for artistic production with international projection thanks to the collaboration between prominent creators, a solid community of collectors, and high-caliber museums and galleries that are among the best in the world,” notes Architectural Digest México.

Beyond the gallery experience, the weekend will also feature video mapping projections in Guadalajara’s Historic Center, mariachi performances, breakdancing, and the illumination of public monuments, among other activities.
