Concert for the dead to fund Day of Dead festival

Cochera Cultural is holding fundraising event for the Day of the Dead Festival in Ajijic Sunday, October 29, 6 p.m.

Throughout Mexico we celebrate life and death with the same passion and joy, but each region has its own ways of doing it.

This event features the Guadalajara-based group “Los Tlacuhaches,” presenting a musical journey celebrating traditional music from the various regions of Mexico. These include sones de mariachi tradicional, del Sotavento, del Istmo, Tixtlecos, de la Huasteca, canto Cardenche, Pirekuas and canciones rancheras antiguas.

Los Tlacuaches was formed in 2022 by musicians with many years of experience performing traditional Mexican music.

The group is dedicated to recreating and disseminating the traditional music of various regions of Mexico.

The musicians are Katya Padilla (vocals, percussions), Karla Vázquez (voice, violin, jarana)
Gabriel Alejandro Pimentel Treto (vocals, guitar, sexta, requinto jarocho), José Gerardo Guardado Márquez (vocals, violin, sexta, requinto jarocho, quinta de golpe, percussions), Carlos Ochoa (vocals, leona, vihuela), Marcelo Torres (vocals, harp, guitar sexta, jarana).
