Ten thought-provoking films will be featured in the 2024 Movies That Matter Film Festival hosted by the Lake Chapala Chapter of Democrats Abroad at the Cine+Lago Theater in Ajijic’s Plaza Bugambilias.
Showtime is 2 p.m. every Sunday and Thursday throughout March. The first documentary, “The Soul of America,” screens Sunday, March 3, and encapsulates the festival’s theme: “Democracy vs. Dictatorship.” It examines our current, fraught political reality through a compelling historical journey with chilling parallels today. Its aim is to propose how we can better unite learning from the past.
