Fancy Gourmet is a three-day event that will feature a “food area” with invited chefs from restaurants such as Sabina Bandera, Mariscos La Guerrerense from Baja California, Olio Bistro, Ofelia Bistro and Hemingway’s. There will also be cooking classes, demonstrations, wine tastings and conferences.

The festival will kick off on Thursday, May 15 with a special dinner at the plaza’s Olio Bistro cooked by noted chef Javier Plascencia, owner of Finca Altozano in Baja California. Reservations can be made at the restaurant and, possibly, next week via Ticketmaster.

Plaza Andares hugs the corner of Avenida Patria and Aceuducto. Underground parking is available.

Day Against Homophobia

New eateries

Two well-known U.S. restaurant chains will open later this year in the Unicenter Plaza at the corner of Patria and Acueducto in Zapopan. Seafood eatery Red Lobster and Italian specialists Olive Garden are expected to invest around two million dollars in their new Guadalajara outlets.
