Representatives of the United States Consulate General this week donated equipment valued around 15,000 dollars to a worthy charity hospital in Guadalajara. The Hospital Materno Infantil “Esperanza López Mateos” received six fetal monitors and 16 wheelchairs, made available thanks to the USNORTHCOM Humanitarian Assistance Program.
The hospital caters to women in economically challenged circumstances who are not affiliated to any public or private health insurance program.
Speaking at a ceremony to deliver the donations, U.S. Consul General Susan Abeyta noted that “a wide number of studies prove that one of the best investments we can make is in the future of women and children. Healthy women can care for their families, and ensure that their children have the best possible opportunities.”
