Two groups to be busy at July 2 CAN/AM festival

The Storytellers will have a booth at the Lake Chapala Society (LCS) CAN/AM festival on Monday, July 2 so that  Lakeside authors can sell their books.

The only thing the group asks is that 20 percent of the books’ sale price be given to the Jim Collums Education Fund.

Authors should contact Larry Reeves at  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by June 27 with their name, email address and phone number. Storytellers has raised more than 20,000 pesos for the students’ fund while giving Lakeside authors an additional outlet for their work.

Feria del Arte

Feria Maestros del Arte is still in need of folk art for their “Pay it Forward” sale going on during the CAN/AM Day event. If you have anything for the sale, you can take it to the Feria Volunteer Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, June 27, 2 p.m. at Casa del Sol B & B, Javier Mina 7 in Ajijic. Monies raised from the sale will go to the transportation fund to pay the way for artists and artisans from all over Mexico to come to Lakeside to participate in this important art fair held in November.

The Feria crew is still looking for volunteers for the fall event. They especially want folks to work on graphics and websites, fundraising and a long list of other interesting things. Connect with them at 765-7485 or 765-5937.

The CAN/AM  Day festival will be held from noon to 5 p.m. on the LCS grounds.

Early ticket sales auger good crowds to turn up and enjoy the great food and entertainment.  Attending also helps support the society’s many good works.
