Lakeside’s first annual Faux Antiques Road Show will be held on Saturday, October 25, 9 a.m. to noon at the Tepehua Community Center, Calle Ramón Chávez 16, Chapala.
The event will feature 20 special guest exhibitors showing prize possessions, with experts explaining the history and market value of each piece, in the style of the popular PBS television show. Visitors may also bring in their own items for free appraisals. In addition, a selection of more than 100 treasures will also be up for grabs in the silent auction.
The ticket price of 150 pesos covers admission and a breakfast sandwich served with fruit and coffee or tea. Proceeds are destined for the Tepehua Center’s college education fund for worthy students.
Tickets are now on sale at the center and the Tepehua Treasures consignment shop located on the Chapala-Jocotepec highway in Riberas de Pilar next to Café Magaña. Donations for the auction may be dropped off at the shop. For further information on the event or signing up as a volunteer assistant contact Penny Howe at 765-6719 or Lorraine Kulig at 765-4877.
