Adorable toddlers dressed up as rebel warriors kicked up their heels in Ajijic’s November 20 Revolution Day parade. Another parade will take place Saturday, November 24, 10 a.m., in San Antonio Tlayacapan.
Chapala commemorated the 108th anniversary of the Mexican Revolution with a traditional parade Monday, November 19.
Ajijic followed suit the next day, the real date of the rebel outbreak that brought down the 30-year dictatorship of President Porfirio Diaz.
Each of the colorful parades lasted around two hours, showcasing schoolchildren dressed in period costumes, athletic squads performing sports routines, dance troupes and charro equestrians. Both parades were enjoyed by hundreds of spectators lining the routes.
