Lake Chapala Baptist
God’s discipline is never pointless; it is filled with purpose, correction, and mercy. Whether through a storm or another form of trial, God’s divine intervention graciously draws His children back to obedience. Even in Jonah’s rebellion, God extended mercy—He didn’t let Jonah drown but prepared a great fish to preserve and redirect him. The powerful moment reminds us that divine discipline is not rejection but loving redirection. It is grace in motion, guiding us toward God’s will. As Proverbs 3:11-12 says, “My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline and do not resent his rebuke, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.”
