Universidad de Guadalajara student Karen Ruz Sanchez has received an honorific mention in the fourth edition of the “Copper and the Home” competition organized by the Italian Copper Institute and the European Copper Institute (ECI).
The student category is open to young design students, who compete in creating beautiful and innovative furnishings, decorative items and other household objects to be realized in copper and its alloys.
Ruz Sanchez’s ingenious designs consisted of four devices that can be used for birds in urban gardens. The polished copper pieces are shaped as hands and serve as a refuge (bird house), a drinking fountain, a lamp and a resting place.
