Dear Sir,
On Monday, May 13, at about 12:40 p.m., I returned from a trip to my bank to find a robber in my house. As bad as the situation was, the police who arrived were totally professional, compassionate, and helpful, as were the wonderful neighbors who gathered on the street to hug me, bring me cold water for my gassed eyes and generally offer their support.
I congratulate the Chapala police and thank them so very much. I laud the wonderful Mexican and American neighbors that I live in the midst of and thank them for their help and concern.
Finally, I would like to say — please, if you are robbed, don’t hesitate to report the theft to the police. They cannot find and arrest perpetrators if we don’t assist by providing every piece of evidence that we can.
