Dear Sir,
For 50 years, the heart and soul of Ajijic have been poured into a cherished tradition—the Easter Passion Play.
Over two days, our vibrant streets transform into a living stage, retelling the story of the Passion in a way that unites and moves all who witness it.
This is not just an event—it’s a labor of love, created entirely by the people of Ajijic. Your neighbors, friends, and familiar faces — your gardeners, cleaners, waiters, plumbers, and more—volunteer their time, energy, and talent to make this play come to life. There are no sponsors, no professionals, and no outside funding. It’s simply us—the community—coming together for something bigger than ourselves.
But to keep this incredible tradition alive, we need your help. There are costs—materials, sound systems, and more—that can’t be covered by passion alone. By contributing, whether through a donation or volunteering, you’re not just supporting an event—you’re strengthening our community and ensuring this legacy endures for future generations.
I will present a talk “Behind the Scenes of Ajijic’s Passion Play” April 13, 10:30 a.m. at Open Circle in the LCS. Director Eduardo “Lalo” Ramos will accompany me and two actors dressed in their roles. I will talk about the history of the passion play along with amusing anecdotes over the years and how all the village comes together to participate.
Let’s keep this story alive, together. Learn more about how you can be a part of it by visiting the link: prylett. wixsite.com/ajijicpassion.
