Three-way tie for lead after round one of Lorena Ochoa Invitational

Former champions Angela Stanford and Michelle Wie shot six under par 66s to share the first-round lead with Taiwan's Candie Kung in the Lorena Ochoa Invitational at the Guadalajara Country Club Thursday.

Stanford won the inaugural tournament in 2008 and Wie took the title for her first LPGA Tour win in 2009.

Five players, including Americans Stacy Lewis and Cristie Kerr, are one behind the leaders at five under par.

Host Lorena Ochoa, playing in her own tournament for the first time in two years, shot a 71 and is tied for 16th place in the 36-player field, along with defending champion, Catriona Matthew of Scotland.

Second round play resumes at the Guadalajara Country Club (Calle Mar Egeo and Mar Marmara, one block from Avila Camacho) on Friday at 10:20 a.m. Tickets are priced at 100 pesos.

Tickets are 300 and 400 pesos on Saturday and Sunday. Play starts Saturday at 10:20 a.m. and Sunday at 9:20 a.m.  Prize-giving on Sunday is at 4 p.m.  The total purse for the tournament is one million dollars.
