Guadalajara basketball fans will have little to complain about over the coming months, with the city’s pro team, the Astros de Jalisco, competing in two men’s leagues, as well as debuting a team in the LMBP Femenil (women’s league).
The Astros’ men’s team will participate—as it has for the past three years—in the August to November National Profesional Basketball League (LMBP), but also in the Pacific Coast Basketball Circuit (CIBACOPA), which runs from the end of March to the start of June.
Together with the LMBP Femenil games, which commence in May, fans will have the opportunity to choose from at least 60 home games at the Arena Astros in Guadalajara.
The Astros’ CIBACOPA opener is on the road at the Tijuana Zonkeys on Wednesday, March 30. The first home series is set for April 5 and 6, 8 p.m., against the Venados de Mazatlan, and April 8 and 9, against the Caballeros de Culiacan. In total, the Astros will play 16 home games during the regular season, through June 4.
