The Charros de Jalisco professional women’s softball team needs just one more win to reach the final series of the inaugural Liga Mexicana de Sóftbol (LMS).
The Charros lead their best-of-five semi-final series against the Diablos Rojos of Mexico City 2-0, following a narrow 11-10 victory Wednesday evening, in game two in the capital.
Game three takes place at the Charros Stadium in Zapopan on Friday, March 8, 7:30 p.m. Should games four and five be necessary, they will also be played at the Charros’ home stadium, on Saturday, March 9, 6 p.m. and Sunday, March 10, 5 p.m. (Tickets at boletomovil.com or at the stadium box office.)
Should the Charros make it to the five-game final series—the Serie de la Reina—they will play on Tuesday, March 12; Wednesday, March 13 and Friday, March 15 (and March 16 and 17, if needed). If their opponents in the final are the Sultanes de Monterrey (first place in the regular season), the Charros will play the first two games at home and the rest on the road. If the Aguilas de Veracruz (fourth place) make it to the final, the March 12 and 13 games will be on the road, and the March 15 to 17 encounters in the Charros Stadium (at 7:30, 6 and 5 p.m. respectively).
