Poland’s Magdalena Fręch won the 2024 Akron Guadalajara Open at the Pan American Tennis Center on Sunday.

Seeded fifth, in the final she overcame qualifier Olivia Gadecki of Australia 7-6, 6-4, lifting her to a career-high world ranking of 35th.

This is the 26-year-old’s first WTA Tour title. As usual, the final was watched by a full house of enthusiastic fans.
