World’s best divers in town

Mexico has produced dozens of world-class divers over the years, and interest in the sport is always high in Guadalajara. And in a couple of weeks, local residents can witness Olympic-caliber athletes compete on the international stage.

From Thursday, March 5 to Sunday, March 8, the Metropolitano Aquatic Center — located on the fringes of Zapopan’s Metropolitan Park — will host another round of the Diving World Cup, welcoming the world’s top divers.

The timing of the World Cup — one of diving’s most prestigious competitions — is significant, with 2028 Olympic qualification points on the line.

Tickets start as low as 50 pesos for preliminary rounds, while finals tickets on the weekend cost between 150 and 200 pesos. Four-day passes are available from 700 pesos.

Organizers are positioning the event as an ideal family outing—an affordable opportunity to see medallists and rising stars compete close to home.
