The body of a middle-aged man who disappeared in Lake Chapala was located Monday, December 9, washed up on the rocky shoreline in the vicinity of Mirasol.

The individual was reported missing late Sunday afternoon after disappearing from sight a short time after he stepped out into the lake. A rescue team from Chapala’s civil protection and firefighters unit responded promptly, but called off the search at nightfall. Returning the following morning, the search party set out again, accompanied volunteers paddling in kayaks. The corpse was found around 1:30 p.m.
