The second half of a donation of 3.5 million Moderna vaccine doses from the United States arrived at the Toluca airport on Tuesday, the U.S. embassy in Mexico City confirmed.
This delivery increases the number of doses the United States has donated to Mexico in 2021 to 7.57 million.
“The donation of Moderna vaccine to Mexico is part of the United States’ effort to distribute safe and effective vaccines to as many people as possible, and as quickly as possible, in our region,” the embassy said.
“Only by increasing the number of people vaccinated will we be able to change the course of this pandemic.”
