Dead set on reviving Día de Muertos festivities in Ajijic, a group of community leaders formed an ad hoc steering committee to organize diverse happenings that will unfold in the village Monday, November 1 and Tuesday, November 2.
The patronato for the 2022 “Revive la Tradición” festival is composed of representatives of the Ajijic branch of the Cetac prep school, Semanario Laguna, the arts and crafts sector and local government officials, who will share the task of putting together the two-day program.
Activities commence at 11 a.m. on both days with the setup of gastronomy and artisan pavilions on the plaza, complemented by ongoing cultural events. An exhibition of memorial altars, giant catrina figures and colored sawdust carpets laid out in the street will be ready for viewing by 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
