Making his first visit to Jalisco in his current role, Canadian Ambassador to Mexico Cameron MacKay attended the opening events of Guadalajara’s May Cultural Festival, to which Canada is this year’s guest country.

MacKay took in art exhibits at the Museo Cabañas and Ex Convento del Carmen, and the inaugural show given by the Montreal-based Rubberband company at the Teatro Degollado.

Speaking at the Degollado, MacKay welcomed the opportunity to strengthen ties between the two nations through cultural exchange, emphasizing that events like the May Festival reaffirm a relationship that goes beyond diplomacy.
