Should doctors in Mexico be immune from facing criminal charges when accused of negligence?

Doctors from various public hospitals in Guadalajara staged walkouts this week to voice their wrath at proposed federal legislation that could brand them “criminals” if found guilty in some negligence cases. 

Speaking at a protest outside the Zoquipan Hospital in Zapopan, spokesman Alejandro Castillo Castañeda said the doctors only asked to be treated fairly, and took the opportunity to lament the lack of government investment in public health services that made their jobs much more complicated.
