After three years of negotiations with Beijing City University (BCU), the University of Guadalajara (UdeG) has announced the opening of the Confucius Institute, to be housed in the Proulex language center, located on Calle Tomás V. Gomez 125, in Colonia Arcos Vallarta.
According to UdeG Rector Ricardo Villanueva, the institute will “offer practical courses for the effective use of Chinese in business and international trade in accordance with all the new world trends.”
“This will allow us to interact with the second largest economy on the planet,” he added. “In addition, we will gain access to the knowledge of a culture that harmonizes ancient traditions with contemporary technological innovations.”
The academic collaboration between the two universities will generate plenty of international exchange opportunities, Villanueva said.
