On September 16, hundreds of Tapatíos lined Avenida Chapultepec for the annual civic and military parade commemorating the 214th anniversary of Mexico’s Independence.
The procession included 1,380 members of the Mexican Army, Air Force and National Guard, along with 2,859 civilians, 82 horses and 27 canine teams.
The 90-minute parade featured 345 vehicles, 31 motorcycles, two planes and one boat. Participants included a primary school drum and bugle corps, firefighters, police officers, medical and forestry service workers, and male and female equestrians who closed the parade.
