As part of an investigation into an international car theft operation, the Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office has reported the seizure of at least 60 high-end vehicles that were illegally brought into Mexico from the United States.
More than half of these vehicles had been reported stolen by U.S. authorities.
Once inside Mexico, the cars were transported to Jalisco, where their serial numbers were altered to disguise their origins.
State investigators discovered the vehicles on a 1,000-square-meter property in the El Roble neighborhood of Zapopan.
According to a police report, the seized vehicles included luxury, high-performance and classic models such as: Ram TRX, Ford Raptor, Toyota Tacoma, Jeep Rubicon, Grand Wagoneer, Dodge Ram 4x4, Porsche sports cars, and Mustang Shelby
Authorities continue their investigation to identify those responsible and dismantle the criminal network behind the operation.
