A torrential downpour hit the Guadalajara metro area on Tuesday, marking the heaviest rain of the season and triggering flash floods that brought large sections of the city to a standstill. Multiple roads and underpasses were inundated, and dozens of cars were stranded and even swept away by the current in several parts of the city.
In Zapopan, almost 150 homes in five neighborhoods were inundated when the Seco arroyo overflowed: El Mante, Cantaluna, El Briseño, Los Periodistas, Villas Perisur and Loma Bonita Ejidal.
