Zapopan’s City Council has launched a new program called Desdoblamiento de Vivienda (Housing Doubling) to address housing challenges for younger generations.
The initiative allows property owners to build up to four additional floors on their existing properties, offering affordable housing options and the potential for rental income. This plan covers 70 percent of the municipality and is similar to Guadalajara’s Housing for Living Well program.
