As Donovan Carrillo prepares to take the ice for his Olympic final in Milan this Friday, here in Guadalajara the groundwork is being laid for a project the local Olympian calls a potential “before and after” moment for Mexican winter sports.
Last December, Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus confirmed that the state is moving forward with construction of a public ice rink in the Guadalajara metropolitan area — and that Carrillo is collaborating on the project.
