The traditional December 12 street processions and other customary festivities held at lakeside during the Novenario for La Virgen de Guadalupe, Mexico’s foremost religious icon, have been cancelled this year because of the Covid pandemic.
The annual celebration will be cut down to services at local churches, including 6 p.m. Mass at Ajijic’s Guadalupe Sanctuary near Seis Esquinas, with entry limited to a small congregation. Similar restrictions will apply at Guadalajara’s Santuario de Guadalupe church on Avenida Alcalde and otherchurches nationwide, including the Basilica de Guadalupe in Mexico City,
