“I’m more about people than projects,” says Luis Pacheco, in explaining how he views the fresh approach he will take in serving as the new executive director of the Lake Chapala Society (LCS).
Barely two weeks after taking up his job, Pacheco invited this reporter to sit down for a lengthy dialogue about the Chapala area’s multicultural populace and the outlook for its future.
Pacheco believes that communities here and elsewhere will undergo significant changes in the ways people engage in social interactions, business dealings and educational pursuits in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. Getting LCS ready for these shifts is central to his calling to help build a more integrated and cohesive community.
