Volunteers from the Vote from Abroad program at the Lake Chapala Society saw a surge in activity between September 21 and 30, with over 400 U.S. citizens seeking help to register to vote and obtain absentee ballots for the upcoming November 5 elections.
Local voters registered in 23 states requiring ballots to be returned by mail are urged to submit them via iShop in San Antonio Tlayacapan by October 5. This ensures they will be transported to the border and entered into the U.S. Postal System in time to meet looming deadlines.
