Investigations carried out by the District V Special Regional Prosecutor’s Office concerning a sexual assault suffered by a teenage girl, led to the identification of Cristino R. as a suspected perpetrator of human trafficking, for which he has been charged.
The judicial authority determined there was sufficient evidence to hold him for trial.
He is the second person arrested for possible involvement in the case, following the recent arrest of a foreign citizen identified as Norman A., who faces criminal charges for the alleged sexual abuse of a minor.
According to the case file, the victim worked at a local beverage business where she met Cristino R., who gained her trust and later introduced her to Norman A.
In April, the foreigner allegedly invited the teenager to his house in Riberas del Pilar, where he gave her drugs that caused her to lose consciousness while he sexually assaulted her several times.
The Prosecutor’s Office issued an arrest warrant for Norman A. after the victim filed a criminal complaint. A judge subsequently ordered his preventive custody while awaiting trial.
