Mexico’s Health Ministry (Ssa) has modified the way in which it classifies Covid-19 cases in the country, determining that symptomatic close contacts of lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases are positive without tests.
Until October 4, the guideline to publish the number of cases and deaths was only through “confirmatory evidence,” i.e. a positive test result.
In order to have “a better approach to the pandemic in Mexico,” the Ssa says this criterion has now changed to include cases confirmed by epidemiological association.
